Grades 4–8 | 6-Week Homeschool MakerClass

Turn ordinary cardboard into extraordinary creations!

In this hands-on engineering class, students will design, build, and test their own interactive carnival games using cardboard, creative tools, and innovative construction techniques.

Students will learn to safely operate ChompSaws, develop practical measurement skills, and explore construction methods using 3D-printed screws and connectors. They'll practice measuring accurately, marking dimensions, and cutting materials to fit while discovering how precision contributes to successful designs.

Throughout the class, students will practice the engineering design process—imagining, planning, building, testing, and improving their creations. Older students may have opportunities to mentor younger makers, developing leadership and communication skills while helping foster a collaborative learning environment.

The class concludes with a Cardboard Carnival where students showcase their creations and put their games to the test!

No previous engineering or tool experience required.
