Future Pronghorn Pathways is a series of career exploration experiences designed to help middle and high school students discover the programs, people, and possibilities available at Gillette College. The series is open to students ages 14 and up who are ready to explore college programs and future career pathways.

Through guided campus tours, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and conversations with college instructors, students will explore technical education, healthcare, skilled trades, transportation, and other high-demand career pathways. Each session gives students an opportunity to experience college learning firsthand while beginning to connect their interests and strengths with future education and career options.

The series is designed for homeschool students and other school-age students who are curious about careers, enjoy hands-on learning, or are considering college coursework, technical education, or dual enrollment. Parent participation varies by session.

Campus & Career Kickoff (October 9 @ 10:00 AM)

Parent-friendly session

Explore Gillette College’s Technical Education Center, Health Sciences building, and main campus. Students will experience campus life, discover a variety of academic and technical programs, and begin connecting their interests to potential career pathways. The session will conclude with lunch at the High Plains Grill. Parents are welcome to participate.

Welding (October 23 @ 10:00 AM)

Student-only session

Step into the welding lab to learn about welding safety, equipment, certifications, and career opportunities. Students will experience welding technology firsthand and discover how these skills are used in construction, manufacturing, energy, and other industries.

Nursing & Health Sciences (November 6 @ 10:00 AM)

Student-only session

Explore healthcare education through a live demonstration of HAL, Gillette College’s advanced patient simulator. Students will see how HAL can breathe, speak, display symptoms, and respond to treatment while learning how future healthcare professionals prepare for real-world medical situations.

Machining & Industrial Electrical (November 20 @ 10:00 AM)

Student-only session

Experience the precision and problem-solving involved in machining and industrial electrical careers. Students will participate in hands-on lab experiences, explore electrical systems and manufacturing equipment, and learn how these technical skills support modern industry.

CDL & Diesel Technology (December 4 @ 10:00 AM)

Student-only session

Go behind the scenes in Gillette College’s diesel and transportation programs. Students will examine engine systems, participate in an oil-change experience, explore CDL simulation, and learn about careers that keep equipment, transportation, and industry moving.

Career Exploration & Dual Enrollment (December 11 @ 10:00 AM)

Parent-friendly session

Students will work with Gillette College’s Career Services team to identify career pathways that align with their interests, strengths, and goals. Families will also learn about dual enrollment opportunities and how students may begin earning college credit while still in high school. Parents are encouraged to attend this session.
