Fun Friday Catapult Building

Fun Friday Catapult Building

$25.00

This class takes place Friday, July 10, 9:30 - 11:00 AM.

Launch into engineering fun at Area 59! In this exciting Fun Friday MakerClass, participants will build and test their own laser-cut wooden catapult while exploring the basics of force, motion, angles, and simple machine design. Students will assemble their catapult pieces, learn how the mechanism works, and experiment with launching projectiles at targets and challenges.

This hands-on class combines creativity, problem-solving, and friendly competition as makers test different launch strategies and see whose catapult can hit the target with the best accuracy and distance. Along the way, students will gain confidence using real maker tools and discover how engineers design machines to solve problems.

Each participant will leave with a completed catapult to continue experimenting with at home.

No prior experience is required and all materials are included.

Ages: Recommended for students entering 5th grade and up independently. Younger makers are welcome with a participating adult.
