This class takes place on Friday, June 26, 9:30 - 11:00 AM.

Due to 3D printing production time, projects may not be completed during class. Participants will be notified when their custom shoe charms are ready for pickup at Area 59.

Add some personality to your shoes this summer! In this Fun Friday MakerClass, students will design and create their own custom 3D printed shoe charms inspired by summer themes, favorite hobbies, silly characters, and colorful designs. Participants will explore beginner-friendly 3D design concepts while learning how ideas become real objects using 3D printers at Area 59.

Students will choose from pre-made design templates and customization options to create unique charms that clip right onto Crocs and similar shoes (or attach to shoelaces). Along the way, they’ll get an introduction to 3D printing technology, creativity in digital design, and how makers turn ideas into wearable accessories.

Each participant will leave with a set of custom shoe charms they helped create themselves!

No prior experience is required and all materials are included.

Ages: Recommended for students entering 5th grade and up independently. Younger makers are welcome with a participating adult.
