This class takes place on Saturday, September 19, from 9:30 - 11:30 AM.

In this hands-on MakerClass created especially for veterans, you will learn how to create a custom laser-ready design using Adobe Illustrator and engrave it onto a stainless steel coffee tumbler.

We’ll start by walking through the fundamentals of vector design in Illustrator, including working with text, shapes, alignment tools, and preparing artwork specifically for laser engraving. You’ll learn how to size and position your design for a curved surface and how to prepare artwork so it engraves cleanly through the tumbler’s colored coating to reveal the stainless steel beneath.

Once your design is finalized, you’ll see the laser in action as your artwork is permanently engraved onto your tumbler. This class combines digital design with real fabrication technology, giving you the opportunity to create something personal while learning skills you can use for future projects.

By the end of class, you’ll walk away with:

• A personalized stainless steel coffee tumbler

• Foundational Adobe Illustrator skills

• An understanding of how digital artwork is prepared for laser engraving

• Experience designing for a curved surface

• Confidence creating vector artwork for future projects

No prior design or laser experience is required. All materials are provided, and every participant will take their finished tumbler home.
