This class takes place on Wednesday, September 9, at 10:30 AM and will be offered concurrently with the Veterans Meet-Up at Area 59.

Forge Your Story is a veterans-only MakerClass focused on creating a personalized commemorative coin inspired by your own service, experiences, unit, branch, values, or story.

Participants will begin by developing a simple coin concept and preparing artwork for engraving. We’ll talk about what makes a strong coin design, including bold imagery, readable text, balanced layout, and how to simplify artwork so it engraves cleanly on metal.

Once the design is ready, participants will see how the artwork is transferred to the laser and engraved onto a metal coin blank. You may choose to create something connected to your branch of service, a meaningful symbol, motto, memory, or another design that represents part of your story.

By the end of the class, you will leave with:

• A custom engraved commemorative coin

• Experience preparing artwork for laser engraving

• A better understanding of how detailed images translate onto metal

• A one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your service or personal story

No prior design or laser experience is required. All materials are provided.
