Made to Mark MakerClass
Made to Mark MakerClass
This class takes place on March 14 @ 9:30 AM.
Perfect for entrepreneurs developing branded merchandise, promotional materials, or small-batch product lines.
Turn your ideas into lasting impressions in this hands-on laser design experience at Area 59.
In Made to Mark, you will begin in the Design Center using Adobe Illustrator to create a custom, vector-based design for anodized aluminum. Whether you want something bold and graphic, sleek and minimal, or completely personal, we will guide you through the tools you need to build a clean, laser-ready file.
Once your design is complete, we will move to our laser CNC machines, where you will see your digital artwork transformed into a precision-etched piece. Participants will create custom items such as an anodized aluminum bracelet, business card, or dog tag. The laser removes the anodized coating to reveal bright aluminum beneath, creating a sharp, high-contrast finish that is both durable and professional.
This class is perfect for:
Makers who want to sharpen their Illustrator skills
Entrepreneurs designing branded materials
Creatives looking for wearable or giftable custom pieces
Anyone curious about how digital design meets fabrication
By the end of the class, you will leave with:
A finished, laser-etched anodized aluminum item. Choose from 2 dog tags (same design), 2 business cards (same design), or a single bracelet.
A working understanding of Illustrator for laser workflows
Confidence moving from digital file to physical product
Loved the process? Schedule a return appointment and receive 50% off a one-time Design Center day pass ($15) to make additional aluminum pieces on your own.
*Materials are available for purchase through Area 59, or you may bring your own approved materials.
No prior design experience is required. Just bring your ideas. We will help you make your mark.
