Frame by Frame Studio: Stop Motion Animation for Middle Schoolers

Frame by Frame Studio: Stop Motion Animation for Middle Schoolers

$75.00

Bring stories to life one frame at a time. In this hands-on homeschool MakerClass, middle school students will step into the role of animators as they learn how professional stop-motion animations are created using HUE cameras and StickBots.

Students will explore how still images become motion through careful planning, precise movement, and creative problem-solving. They will learn camera setup, lighting, storyboarding, timing, and basic editing techniques while designing and producing their own original stop-motion animation.

The first two sessions focus on learning the tools and techniques of stop-motion animation. The final two sessions operate as a studio environment, giving students time to independently work on their projects with instructor support. The class culminates in a final showcase, where completed animations will be shared on the Area 59 Facebook page for friends, family, and the community to enjoy.

No prior animation or filmmaking experience is required.
