Wyoming Maker Summit 2026
Wyoming Maker Summit 2026
Share What Works. Solve What's Hard. Build What's Next.
Join makerspace leaders from across Wyoming for two days of collaboration, idea sharing, and practical problem-solving at Area 59 at Gillette College.
The Wyoming Maker Summit is a peer-to-peer working summit created specifically for the people who lead, manage, teach in, and support makerspaces and innovation spaces. This is not a traditional conference with keynote speakers and vendor exhibits. Instead, participants will engage in meaningful conversations with colleagues who understand the opportunities and challenges of operating a makerspace.
Together, we'll explore successful programming, discuss common operational challenges, share lessons learned, and build a stronger statewide network of makerspace professionals.
What to Expect
Over two days, participants will:
Tour Area 59 and learn about our makerspace philosophy and programming.
Explore how partnerships expand opportunities through a visit to Gillette College's Technology Education Center.
Participate in Makerspace Snapshot Presentations, where each organization shares successful programs, challenges, and lessons learned.
Experience the Area 59 Program Showcase, featuring youth programming, community engagement, and industry partnerships.
Collaborate during facilitated Solutions Lab sessions to address the challenges identified by attendees.
Build lasting relationships with makerspace professionals from across Wyoming while helping shape the future of a statewide makerspace network.
Throughout the summit, the focus remains on practical ideas that participants can adapt and implement within their own organizations.

Who Should Attend
This summit is designed for professionals who lead, manage, teach in, or support established makerspaces and innovation spaces, including school, college, library, museum, nonprofit, and community makerspaces. Because the summit is highly collaborative and discussion-based, attendance is intentionally limited to foster meaningful peer-to-peer conversations.
Agenda
A detailed agenda will be shared with registered participants as the summit approaches. While session details may be refined based on participant interests and discussion topics, attendees can expect a balance of networking, makerspace showcases, collaborative discussions, facility tours, and hands-on planning sessions focused on strengthening makerspaces across Wyoming.
We look forward to welcoming you to the inaugural Wyoming Maker Summit as we share what works, solve what's hard, and build what's next—together.
